Microsoft's Project Silica is an effort to demonstrate that the company is capable of storing data for an extended period of time utilizing glass as the storage medium. Glass is the medium of the future for the storage of long-term data.

The Superman film from 1978 was etched onto a piece of glass through a collaborative effort between Microsoft and Warner Bros., which involved the use of lasers. This was done with the intention of demonstrating that the technology could be applied in environments other than the laboratory.

What To Expect At Apple's Next Event....

What should you expect from Apple's Oct 18th Event? Rumor is it's all about new MacBook Pro models, which will have been redesigned with thinner bezels for a larger display.

There has also been hints of 3024 x 1964 and 3456 x 2234 resolutions - which would enable 2x Retina for higher quality images and text. But the most hype may be for the chip that powers it all - the M1X chip, which is the newest and most powerful version of the M1.

Describing the unusual pairing as a “once-in-a-lifetime collaboration,” a representative for “The Howard Stern Show” announced on Tuesday that the two acts would perform a Metallica classic, “Nothing Else Matters"

Nothing Else Matters is a best-selling single of the band. It was written by a person whose previous job was writing book reports. Of course, it’s not really a book about the Metallica and Miley Cyrus alliance.

In a live performance on the Howard Stern Show, Metallica and Miley Cyrus perform Nothing Else Matters together. For the Metallica cover, Miley Cyrus's vocals are paired with the original James Hetfield vocals and she plays a guitar solo to introduce the song. For the Miley Cyrus cover, Metallica's instrumental stems and Hetfield's vocals are paired with Miley Cyrus's vocals and she plays a guitar solo to introduce the song.

In June 2020, Apple introduced the latest version of its iOS operating system, iOS 14, which was released on September 16. iOS 14 is one of the largest iOS updates from Apple to date. It includes changes to the home screen design, major new features and updates to existing apps, Siri enhancements, and many other improvements that streamline the iOS user interface.
  • First of all, iOS 14 features a redesigned home screen that for the first time supports widgets.

  • Widgets can be dragged from the Today view directly onto the home screen and can be pinned in different sizes. With a smart stack function, the iPhone can use the intelligence on the device to display the correct widget based on time, location and activity.

  • Each home screen page can display widgets related to work, travel, sports, The Today section, which stores widgets, has also been redesigned.

  • There's also a widgets gallery where users can select new widgets from apps and customize those widgets.

  • Swiping to the end of the app pages on an iPhone opens the new app library, an interface where all of the apps on your iPhone iPhone to see everything at a glance.

  • Apps are organized in your folder system, but there are also Apple-made Apps folders like Suggestions and Apple Arcade that cleverly display apps.

  • New app downloads can be added to your home screen or saved in the app library to keep the home screen cleaner.
